soul city soccer club

Our Story

Founded in 2019, Soul City Soccer Club was established to provide affordable soccer for children in Memphis. With costs continuing to rise, youth soccer has become harder and harder to access for players from economically disadvantaged homes — particularly competitive soccer. Though most competitive clubs offer financial aid or scholarship for players in need, in most cases associated costs are not covered — team dues, referee fees, league fees, tournament fees, travel expenses… the additional costs can snowball quickly! Soul City operates as a charitable organization to provide no-fee soccer programs to those who otherwise may be priced out.

In addition to rising costs, access to the vast majority of soccer clubs is limited within Memphis; the majority of the area’s dedicated soccer facilities are located in the surrounding suburbs (Bartlett, Arlington, Germantown and Collierville). Along with providing affordable soccer programs, increasing the number of public soccer fields and futsal courts throughout the city of Memphis is a long-term priority for the club.

In 2019, Soul City’s focus is to introduce regular soccer clinics and events for children in the Binghampton neighborhood. Clinics and events are free for participants and are funded completely through sponsorships and donations. If you are interested in supporting Soul City Soccer Club financially, please click here.
